C18th (french) This guitar had been converted from 5 to 6 courses at some stage, as was commonly done with 5 course guitars.This job required converting it back to its original condition of 5 courses ( 10 strings) again, sorting the fingerboard out and replacing the metal frets with tie-on gut frets. It also needed a new nut and bridge, although the moustaches had survived. Various cracks in the front needed repair and the ribs needed some colour. A new rose was supplied by Bruce Brook, as were the pegs.
