Hauser I 1940 ( owned by Julian Bream).Originally I worked on a copy of this guitar, which was made for Julian Bream

by Brian Cohen - it just needed a re-fret and a little french polishing work. Subsequently I was asked to re-fret the Hauser I and to repair some

damage to the french polish on the soundboard where fingernails had worn it away. As it is quite unusual for me to see a guitar like this I took

quite a few photos, both for myself and for those who are interested in these guitars. It is an unusual guitar, too, in that the body resonance is

extremely low at E flat which makes for basses of great profundity. As I have been working on lowering the body resonance of my own instruments

over the last few years, precisely in order to obtain a more profound bass, it was doubly interesting.

I could be tempted to make a copy of it...
