Model 10. Alpine spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, cedrela neck. Scale 650mm. This is an early model based on a Torres guitar S.E. 83, 1885. Made in 1998, it was purchased soon after by Michael Hulmes who played it for many years. Michael was a fine player and developed the tone of the guitar wonderfully.

Model 13. Alpine spruce and Brazilian rosewood, scale 655mm. Made in 2008, it is a guitar which I held onto, and has always been in my possession. It is built in Spanish fan-braced style using 6 fan braces. Not for sale.

Model 19. Copy of an original D and A Roudhloff brothers “Melophonic” guitar, circa 1840. This is a small-bodied guitar with a scale length of 630mm, built using their X braced design for supporting the top, which is alpine spruce. The back is re-cycled mahogany veneered with Santos rosewood, the ribs, solid Santos rosewood. Neck, Cuban mahogany. Made for demonstration in 2024. Sold.

Model 17. Copied from the original 1940 Hermann Hauser I played by Julian Bream, which was made for demonstration in 2020. Alpine spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, Brazilian mahogany neck. Scale length 650mm

Model 12. Western Red Cedar front and Honduras rosewood back and sides. Scale-length 655mm. This is a fan-braced guitar that employs my asymmetric 6-fan pattern. Made in 2020. This is a powerful guitar with excellent focus and clarity, plus a pleasant woodiness in the bass that the cedar brings.

Model 08. Custom model made in 2010. The body shape is based on an early Antonio de Torres one ( F.E.13), but the front is X-braced much like a D & A Roudhloff Brothers Melophonic guitar. It was designed as a “cross-over” instrument rather than specifically for classical playing, but it works nicely for classical work too. The top is made from Port Orford Cedar, which is a North American sub-species of cypress. The back and sides are of quilted maple, the back reinforced inside with a broad inlay of Indian rosewood. Rosette inlay mother-of-pearl and ebony. The softness of the maple provides a smooth attack, and a strong mid-range – the 2nd and 3rd strings can be brought out very easily. The bass has depth and is very articulate, the trebles clear and sweet in tone. Scale-length 650mm.
